Shinji opened up about why she’s sticking to her wedding plans despite the chatter.
The singer appeared as a special MC on the Sept. 28 episode of SBS’ ‘My Little Old Boy.’
During the broadcast, host Seo Jang-hoon noted that she’s set to marry singer MoonOne, who is seven years her junior, and asked how she’s been coping with the scrutiny surrounding him.
“When random stories started popping up, I was caught off guard,” Shinji shared. “Because anything tied to me can become a big deal, I asked him early on if there was anything I needed to know. I watched for more than two―almost three―years and there was nothing like that. So hearing things that weren’t true was shocking.”
She added, “I’ve been in this business a long time, so I’m not unfamiliar with situations like this, but it definitely rattled my fiance.”
As for why she’s moving forward, Shinji pointed to how he shows up for her family: “He treats me well, and he treats my parents just as well. Even when I’m away for gigs, he looks after them. I love that, and my parents adore him.”
She also noted that her future mother-in-law personally reached out to thank her and apologize, a gesture that left a strong impression.
