HYBE America and Paramount Pictures have set the cast for their K-pop feature and officially kicked off production in Seoul on Sept. 21.
The companies announced on Sept. 24 (U.S. time) that the ensemble now includes Sung Joon, Kang So-ra, Lee Hyung-chul, Lee Ah-in, Renata Vaca, Silia Kapsis, Aliyah Turner, Kim Sha-na and Park Ju-bi.
They join previously announced leads Yoo Ji-young and Eric Nam. Earlier this month, Yoo Ji-tae, Tony Revolori and Gia Kim also boarded the project.
Shot entirely on location in Korea―marking a first for a major Hollywood studio―the film will lens in Seoul, Incheon, and the Gyeonggi Province cities of Gimpo, Paju and Gapyeong, with a targeted theatrical release on Feb. 12, 2027.
The story follows a Korean American teen who defies her family to enter a televised audition, chasing a dream to debut in the next wave of K-pop girl groups.
Benson Lee ("Seoul Searching") directs from a script by Eileen Shim, who co-wrote Disney+’s "The Acolyte."
