SBS’s new Friday-Saturday drama "Would You Marry Me" has unveiled character posters teasing a tangled “fake love” web with Choi Woo-shik, Jung So-min, Bae Nara, Shin Seul-gi and Seo Beom-jun.
Premiering Friday, Oct. 10, the rom-com follows two strangers who jump into a 90-day sham newlywed arrangement to hold onto a luxury newlywed home grand prize. With fan-favorite leads Choi Woo-shik (as Kim Woo-joo) and rom-com ace Jung So-min (as Yoo Meri), the series promises crackling chemistry and high-stakes heart flutters.
On Sept. 24, the production dropped proposal-style posters that instantly grabbed attention. Each character offers a flower to the person they’re drawn to, sparking curiosity about the fluttery―and messy―romance to come.
Choi’s poster reads, “A fake husband? Why me?” as he props his chin with a cool, indifferent gaze, nailing Kim Woo-joo’s chic, unbothered vibe―the impeccably groomed heir to a bakery empire. Jung’s Yoo Meri counters with the sweet but strategic line, “Will you be my husband?” as she extends a flower, proposing a sham marriage. Their ice-and-sugar contrast teases an edgy, sweet-and-salty romance as fate ropes them into a pretend newlywed life that could change them both.
Bae Nara’s Baek Sang-hyun cuts in with a piercing stare. After sensing something off about the couple who won the newlywed home prize, he becomes their watchdog, injecting tension with razor-sharp instincts. Shin Seul-gi’s Yoon Jin-kyung steals focus with love-struck eyes and the copy, “Somehow, you’re a man to me now,” as she finds herself unexpectedly falling for Choi’s Woo-joo―hinting at a tangled, unrequited thread.
Finally, Seo Beom-jun flashes a mischievous grin as Kim Woo-joo―Merry’s philandering ex-fiance and a namesake of Choi’s character―boldly declaring, “Merry and the house―both mine!” His arrival threatens to toss a grenade into the series’ already chaotic love lines.
With Choi Woo-shik, Jung So-min, Bae Nara, Shin Seul-gi and Seo Beom-jun setting up a five-point romance, expectations are high for a flirty, high-tension ride.
"Would You Marry Me" premieres Friday, Oct. 10 at 9:50 p.m. KST on SBS.
