Son Ye-jin kept things close to the vest when asked how Hyun Bin reacted to her new film "No Other Choice".
At a press interview for "No Other Choice" held in Seoul’s Samcheong-dong on the afternoon of the 24th, the actress was asked about her husband’s response after he attended the VIP screening the night before.
“Everyone at a VIP screening is basically on our side ― they’re all friends, so who’s really going to say they didn’t like it?” she said with a smile. “You can usually tell by how many people stick around for the afterparty, and this was the biggest crowd I’ve ever had.”
When pressed about Hyun Bin’s specific reaction, she demurred: “We didn’t get to talk much because the afterparty started right away. And I don’t really trust what family or the closest people say,” she joked. “That’s probably why I’m most curious about the audience response.”
Hyun Bin attended the VIP screening of "No Other Choice" on Sept. 23 and kept the support going at a Korean-style pub afterparty. The couple were spotted making the rounds together, greeting industry friends at each table ― moments that quickly lit up online communities.
"No Other Choice" is a crime thriller that follows Mansu (Lee Byung-hun), a company man who thinks he has it all until he’s abruptly laid off. Determined to protect his wife, two kids, and the home they worked so hard to buy, he gears up for his own war to get back on his feet. Son Ye-jin plays Miri, who refuses to crumble and steps into the world to safeguard her family.
"No Other Choice" opens in theaters across Korea today (Sept. 24).
