Nam Woo-hyun of INFINITE has been cast in the Broadway-style musical "Sugar", opening in Seoul on Dec. 12.

The singer-actor will take on Joe ― a.k.a. “Josephine” ― when "Sugar" raises the curtain at the KEPCO Art Center Grand Theater. The show is adapted from the beloved classic "Some Like It Hot," the 1959 comedy that the American Film Institute crowned the greatest American comedy of all time.

Set in 1929 at the height of Prohibition, the story follows two jazz musicians who witness a mob hit and go on the run ― hiding in plain sight by joining an all-female band. The madcap misadventures, sharp wit and ahead-of-its-time take on gender have made the tale a perennial crowd-pleaser.

For its Korean debut, "Sugar" promises a fresh, contemporary spin on the classic: big, showy production numbers, a lush live band and quick-fire banter designed to plunge audiences into a glamorous retro world. With a stacked local cast and character-driven humor, the production is aiming for both laughs and heart.

Nam will portray a romantic saxophonist who goes undercover in drag to stay alive ― a role that plays to his sharp comic timing and charisma. Fans can expect a bold, gender-bending transformation as he slips between Joe and “Josephine.”

Nam made his musical theater debut with "Gwanghwamun Sonata" in 2012 and has since cemented his status as a musical theater sure bet.

"Sugar" runs from Dec. 12, 2025 through Feb. 22, 2026 at the KEPCO Art Center Grand Theater in Seoul. Ticketing details will be announced at a later date.
