On the Sept. 22 episode of SBS's "Same Bed, Different Dreams 2: You Are My Destiny", former soccer star Kim Young-kwang and his wife joined the show as its newest couple.
Kim introduced his wife on TV for the first time. His spouse, dermatologist Kim Eun-ji, runs a clinic on Cheongdam’s luxury strip in Seoul and immediately drew attention with her striking looks.
"She’s incredibly smart ― and beautiful," Kim gushed, adding that people say she resembles DARA and actress Ye-won.
Host Seo Jang-hoon asked about rumors that she comes from a wealthy family. Actress Im Soo-hyang chimed in, "They’re doing well, sure ― but she built her success on her own, without any family help," prompting surprised reactions in the studio.
Kim recalled their first meeting like it was yesterday. At 25, in the prime of his playing career, he met 22-year-old college student Kim Eun-ji at a group dinner ― and it was love at first sight.
"I fell for her instantly and asked her to marry me. I proposed within 24 hours," he revealed.
"People might think it sounds crazy, but I just knew she was the one," he added, explaining why he didn’t hesitate.
The couple started out long-distance. "I put 44,000 kilometers on my car in a year," Kim said, leaving everyone stunned.
