Running Man couldn’t resist revisiting Kim Jong-kook’s big day.
On the Sept. 21 episode of SBS’s "Running Man," Kim Jong-kook stepped in for his first taping since tying the knot.
As he walked in, the cast erupted―“The newlywed is here!” HAHA and Yang Se-chan amped things up, joking they should hoist him for a celebratory toss, which only stoked Kim’s mock outrage.
Sensing there was plenty of wedding talk to unpack, producers rolled out a special guest: Kim’s close friend (and expert button-pusher) Cha Tae-hyun.
HAHA immediately brought up Cha’s wedding serenade. Cha clarified, “Viewers might get the wrong idea. Jong-kook originally planned to sing himself with a live band―‘Lovable’―and he even rehearsed before the ceremony.”
“I arrived an hour early,” he added. “In the middle of rehearsal, he suddenly asked me to handle the congratulatory song, so I ended up singing ‘I Love You.’”
HAHA and Yang Se-chan said it was the best wedding performance they’ve seen―especially Kim’s own self-serenade. They added that Cha’s heartfelt vocals, capped with a dance for his best friend, moved them to tears.
