Choi Woo-shik plays it cool―until Jung So-min steals his heart in SBS’s new rom-com ‘Would You Marry Me.’
Premiering Friday, Oct. 10 (9:50 p.m. KST) on SBS, the Friday-Saturday series―written by Lee Ha-na and directed by Song Hyun-wook and Hwang In-hyuk―spins a fizzy setup: two strangers enter a 90-day contract marriage to lock down a luxury newlywed-home grand prize. With Choi Woo-shik (as Kim Woo-joo) and rom-com favorite Jung So-min (as Yoo Meri) teaming up, expectations are high for pitch-perfect chemistry.
The second teaser, released Sept. 18, spotlights complete opposites: perfectionist chaebol heir Kim Woo-joo and lovable go-getter Yoo Meri. Curiosity quickly turns into sparks.
As the fourth-generation heir to bakery giant Myeongsundang―and an unfiltered, no-nonsense boss―Woo-joo radiates “born-with-everything” energy. He shrugs that other people’s business isn’t his concern and, with a deadpan glare, even calls out Meri for smelling like she’s been day-drinking.
Meri, meanwhile, is a one-woman startup CEO with exactly one employee and a customer-service smile that can close any deal. When she discovers her fiance’s infidelity, she roars back―then flips from tears to a cheeky heart-above-the-head, her face telling a whole rollercoaster’s worth of story.
Most swoon-worthy? The mood whiplashes from bickering to breathless as the newly fake-married duo lean in, seconds from a kiss, over the line “Sometimes fate is closer than you think.” Are they destined, or just in too deep? Either way, ‘Would You Marry Me’ is setting hearts racing before episode one even drops.
SBS’s ‘Would You Marry Me’ premieres Friday, Oct. 10 at 9:50 p.m. KST.
