Actor Yoon Ji-on, 35, has admitted to a DUI and issued a public apology.

Police cited Yoon on Sept. 16 on suspicion of drunk driving, and he has acknowledged all allegations, according to reports.

Posting a lengthy statement to his social media on the 17th, he wrote, “I’m deeply sorry to share such disgraceful news. I was so intoxicated that I don’t remember, and I made the grave mistake of taking a parked motorcycle and riding it without permission.”

He continued, “My reckless behavior hurt and disappointed many people who have supported me. I will make sure this never happens again and live with this remorse for the rest of my life. I will fully cooperate with the investigation and accept whatever penalties are imposed. There is no excuse. I apologize once again.”

In the wake of the incident, Yoon is stepping down from Channel A’s upcoming drama "Baby on the Way" (working title). Production began in July, and scripts are completed through Episode 6. Yoon had been filming through last week, but following the DUI citation he will no longer continue on the series.

Production staff and insiders said they were blindsided by the abrupt exit. With filming scheduled through December and the project already past the halfway point, recasting has become unavoidable.

Yoon made his stage debut in 2013 and has steadily built his resume with TV dramas including "Be Melodramatic," "Monthly Magazine Home," "You Are My Spring," "My Lovely Liar," and more. Last year, he drew notice as reporter Kang Dan-ho in "Love Next Door."
