Girls’ Generation’s Yoona is owning the moment. Thanks to tvN’s time-slip period drama "Bon Appétit, Your Majesty", she’s ruled the TV/OTT buzz charts for four consecutive weeks and shows no signs of slowing down.
In the series, Yoona plays Yeon Ji-young, a French chef who’s hurled into the past and comes face-to-face with King Lee Heon (Lee Chae-min), a fearsome tyrant with a flawless palate. Her magnetic performance has drawn raves every episode.
Thrown into an unfamiliar era, Ji-young carves her own path with razor-sharp culinary skills and steely resolve―and Yoona sells every beat. She handled most competitive cooking sequences herself, from knife work to plating, dialing up the realism. Her on-screen looks―from a Joseon-era head chef uniform to classic hanbok and even men’s attire―have sparked heated chatter week after week.
Riding that momentum, "Bon Appétit, Your Majesty" became tvN’s highest-rated 2025 drama by its fourth episode. Episode 8 hit 15.4% nationwide (peak 17.4%) and 15.8% in the Seoul metro area (peak 18.1%), according to Nielsen Korea.
Yoona has also held the No. 1 spot for four straight weeks in Good Data Corporation’s FunDex rankings for Most Buzzworthy TV-OTT Talent and TV-OTT Drama Talent since premiere week―underscoring her commanding pop-culture pull.
On Sept. 10, she guested on tvN’s "You Quiz on the Block" to share behind-the-scenes stories from "Bon Appétit, Your Majesty" and candid thoughts on her craft, landing at No. 2 on the TV-OTT Non-Drama Talent chart and extending her streak across both scripted and unscripted categories.
