Actor Cha Tae-hyun says he only learned about close friend Kim Jong-kook’s wedding the very morning the story broke.
Set to air Sunday, Sept. 14, on SBS’s "My Little Old Boy", the episode sends “the planner” Yoon Shi-yoon and the “no-plan trio” ― Cha, Kim Jun-ho and Kim Jong-min ― on a spur-of-the-moment road trip.
Reuniting six years after their "2 Days & 1 Night Season 3" days, the quartet kicks off with sky-high studio buzz and commits to leaving everything to chance, turning even grocery runs and grill duty into luck-of-the-draw games. In true "2 Days & 1 Night" fashion, they even put a chilly river plunge on the line, keeping everyone on edge. Fans can expect wall-to-wall chaos from the OG variety pros.
When the talk turns to Kim’s wedding, Cha gets candid. Worried over Kim’s famously frugal streak, he admits he once drunkenly called Kim’s mom to say, “At this rate, he’ll never get married.” Then, on the morning the reports hit, Cha says he got a video call from Kim ― and one cryptic line made him blurt out, “Are you getting married?” The show teases exactly what Kim said in that moment.
The convo then heats up over how much cash to slip into the wedding envelope. Debating the right figure, Cha pulls out the guest list from his own 2006 wedding, while Kim Jun-ho whips out a list from his ceremony this year ― and shocks the room by revealing the No. 1 most generous giver.
Who topped Kim Jun-ho’s list? Catch the "2 Days & 1 Night" alums’ delightfully unhinged, seat-of-the-pants getaway when "My Little Old Boy" airs Sunday at 9 p.m. KST on Sept. 14.
