Girls' Generation’s Hyoyeon (a.k.a. HYO) and her party brand crew HWA:HAP have donated 10 million won to support teen girls from multicultural families, the international aid NGO G Foundation (CEO Park Chung-kwan) announced on Sept. 12.

Hyoyeon, who also DJs as HYO, threw a launch party for her new party brand HWA:HAP while celebrating the release of her single "YES." A portion of on-site merch sales ― including T-shirts and accessories ― was donated. The funds will help cover living expenses, education costs, daily necessities, and groceries for the recipients.

HWA:HAP, which nods to "harmony" in Korean, embraces the idea that "flowers grown from different roots can bloom together through music." The donation puts that mission into practice, aiming to help girls from multicultural (immigrant) families grow up in a stable, discrimination-free environment.

"We're deeply grateful to Hyoyeon for sharing her warmth with teen girls from multicultural families," said G Foundation CEO Park Chung-kwan. "This donation will be a strong foundation that helps them grow in a stable environment." He added, "G Foundation will continue our programs so that the meaningful spirit behind HWA:HAP ― harmony ― can carry on."
