Model-turned actor-singer Yoo Hyun-woo will release his new single, "No Control," on Sept. 16.
The music video is helmed by director Jo Yong-sun, known for the films "No Breathing" and "Air Murder." In a bold experiment, Jo built the entire clip using AI tools―starting from a single photo of Yoo―to spark conversation even before its premiere.
"No Control" plays like a sci-fi noir: an AI-built human assassin breaks free of its programming and spirals out of control, only to have someone’s cherished memories uploaded into its system. As code collides with feeling, identity fractures―blurring the line between love and violence. The MV pushes that tension to the forefront, visually amplifying the song’s message of slipping past the point of control.
"I wanted to see how far AI could stretch the imagination starting from a single photograph," Jo said of his approach. "We focused on visually amplifying the emotional fissures that occur when the opposing poles of 'control' and 'memory' collide."
Leveraging AI-driven compositing and transformation, the production rebuilds every frame in the digital realm―extrapolating expressions, angles, and movement from one still to reassemble time and space. A glitchy, neon-noir palette and machine-like choreography channel waves of uncanny emotion.
Yoo Hyun-woo's "No Control" and its music video will drop simultaneously on major music platforms on Sept. 16.
