Kim Da-mi and Park Hae-soo lead "The Great Flood", which has locked in a Dec. 19 Netflix launch and unveiled a gripping teaser poster.

Set on Earth’s final day after a cataclysmic deluge, the sci-fi disaster blockbuster follows those wagering humanity’s last hope as they fight to survive inside an apartment high-rise that’s rapidly filling with water.

The teaser poster, revealed on the 10th, grabs attention with a massive tower block completely submerged, as if sunk beneath the sea. In a faint shaft of light, the silhouette of an adult clutching a child sparks the chilling question: what, exactly, are they up against?

The tagline ― “One Last Choice for Humanity as the World Ends” ― cranks up the stakes, hinting at how these characters will navigate an overnight apocalypse no one ever imagined.

Known for taut, high-stakes filmmaking in "The Terror Live" and "Take Point," director Kim Byung-woo said, “This film doesn’t stop at the disaster. I wanted to begin within the disaster genre and explore a story that can be as complex or as simple as you make it,” signaling a fresh, genre-bending spectacle.

Through the fight to survive an unprecedented, world-swallowing flood, the film aims to deliver white-knuckle suspense, unpredictable twists, and a bold new stylistic edge.

"The Great Flood" will bow in the Korean Cinema Today - Special Premiere section at the 30th Busan International Film Festival, which kicks off Sept. 17, before its official Netflix release on Dec. 19.
