Former Cats singer Kim Ji-hye has welcomed twins with her husband, former PARAN member Choi Sung-wook―six years after the couple tied the knot. Choi shared the happy news on social media, drawing a wave of congratulations from fans.
On the night of Sept. 9, Choi posted on Instagram, "Hello, this is the husband checking in. Ji-hye isn’t quite ready to be back on Instagram yet, so I’m saying hello on her behalf. The delivery went safely, and the babies are in the NICU, so we can’t share photos just yet."
He added, "After giving birth, Ji-hye had slightly elevated blood pressure and early signs of preeclampsia, but she’s holding strong and recovering, so please don’t worry. We’ll greet you again when everyone’s healthier. Thank you, truly, to everyone who cheered us on."
Married in 2019, the pair had long hoped to grow their family. News that Kim conceived twins via IVF sparked an outpouring of support. Ahead of her due date, her water broke unexpectedly, leading to an emergency C-section. Both mom and babies are currently stable and recovering.
During the pregnancy, early scans suggested both babies were boys, but a later detailed ultrasound revealed fraternal boy?girl twins. Their in?utero nicknames were Baekho and Yorong.
Kim debuted with the girl group Cats in 2005 before transitioning into business and staying connected with the public. After his days in the boy band PARAN, Choi moved into acting across musicals and TV dramas and continues to work steadily.
