DJ Koo has been keeping watch at the gravesite of his late wife, Barbie Hsu, for five months since her passing in February.
On September 9, Chinese media reported, citing nearby residents, that DJ Koo is seen every single day at Hsu’s resting place at Jinbaoshan’s Rose Garden in New Taipei City, Taiwan.
Rain or shine, he reportedly never misses a visit. “The grass in front of the grave is worn down from footsteps,” one resident said, adding that Koo comes prepared with an umbrella for the rain and a sun parasol on scorching days.
A recent look at the headstone revealed a deeply personal inscription: the English phrase “REMEMBER TOGETHER FOREVER,” alongside a Korean message that reads, “영원히 사랑해 -준준” (“Love you forever ― Junjun”). It mirrors the matching tattoos Koo and Hsu got on their necks and collarbones shortly after they married in 2022―now etched in stone as a lasting token of their bond.
Photos taken by visitors show the gravestone polished spotless, with fresh flowers and carefully arranged photos laid out daily. Koo is said to bring Hsu’s favorite coffee and bread, and at times even cooks noodles to leave at the site himself.
Hsu’s manager also shared that Koo has no plans to leave Taiwan for now, saying, “He wants to stay as close to her as possible.”
Koo and Hsu dated more than 20 years ago but separated for practical reasons. They reunited and married in 2022, starting married life in Taiwan. In early 2025, Hsu died after a sudden downturn in health while traveling.
