SBS' "Curious Story Y" is digging into the school-bullying allegations surrounding actress Song Ha-yoon.
Airing Sept. 5, the episode revisits the day an incident allegedly took place 21 years ago.
Oh, who has been living in the United States, says he was stunned to be served with a lawsuit from across the Pacific. After posting on social media about being bullied in high school 21 years ago, he says he was sued for defamation and obstruction of business. The plaintiff, he says, is none other than actress Song Ha-yoon.
The controversy intensified as Song, who has been drawing attention for her recent drama work, remained in the spotlight. Her camp has flatly denied the claims and announced firm legal action against Oh, who first posted the allegations online.
Oh told producers he had hoped for an apology but instead received a complaint. "About 21 years ago, she sat me down, saying, 'I won't hit you, I won't hit you,' and then slapped me," he alleges.
Returning to the location where he says the assault happened, Oh recounts the events in vivid detail. According to him, the attack began without warning and lasted roughly an hour and a half. He also alleges she was later forced to transfer schools after being linked to another bullying incident.
Song's side disputes that, stating she never used any violence against Oh during high school and was never forced to transfer because of bullying. They add that related materials and evidence have been submitted to investigators, as the case increasingly plays out like a he-said, she-said.
Oh claims Song's team is steering the media narrative and hoping public interest will fade. Determined to clear his name and uncover what happened 21 years ago, he flew to Korea for roughly two weeks, with the "Curious Story Y" crew following his search.
During reporting, producers located an eyewitness who says they were present on the day Oh claims he was assaulted. What really happened there that day?
"Curious Story Y" airs Friday at 8:50 p.m. KST on SBS, tracking the truth behind the allegations surrounding Song Ha-yoon.
