SBS Hits 1 Million on TikTok, a First for a Korean Network

SBS has become the first Korean TV network to surpass 1 million followers on its official TikTok account, SBSNOW.

Rather than simply reposting broadcast clips, the channel has doubled down on TikTok-native shorts―reframing buzzy moments from its TV shows and dramas in trend-forward formats and rolling out original concepts―fueling strong engagement from Gen Z and global viewers.

Building on the momentum, SBS plans to leverage the milestone to expand the reach of its IP and strengthen fan communication at home and abroad, sharpening its global content strategy.

SBS was also tapped as TikTok’s first-ever broadcast partner worldwide for Spotlight, a premium IP-promotion tool available only to select core media partners. In the U.S., the feature has been offered to a small group that includes Netflix and Warner Bros., with SBS becoming the first standalone broadcaster to secure the partnership.

Through its strategic collaboration with TikTok, SBS will begin rolling out Spotlight to flagship IPs in the second half of the year, aiming to supercharge content discovery among global audiences and deepen brand experience.
