Singer Lee Seok Hoon is back with a new mini album that wears its heart on its sleeve.

At 6 p.m. KST today (Aug. 26), Lee drops his fifth mini album, “New, Purpose”, across major streaming platforms.

It’s his first solo release in 22 months, following October 2023’s mini-album ‘Untitled.’ A member of SG Wannabe and a go-to vocal coach on hit audition shows, Lee makes a welcome return as a soloist.

The title track, “I Became an Adult” (literal title), was written and gifted by YOUNHA. Set against sleek contemporary-folk textures, Lee sings with the steadiness of a grown-up while holding onto a boy’s heart―warm, wistful instrumentation aimed at offering comfort to anyone navigating adulthood.

The five-song set also features “Evening Primrose” (literal title), a blues-tinged sentimental ballad penned and composed by YOUNHA; the lullaby-like ‘Under the Moonlight’ for someone you love; “Then It’s Love” ((literal title), a candid take on everyday romance; and the hushed, minimalist lofi cut ‘Whisper.’ Lee wrote the lyrics for ‘Under The Moonlight,’ ‘Then It’s Love,’ and ‘Whisper,’ adding a personal touch.

Across the project, his supple, soothing vocals land with quiet depth. Through stories of love that give us new purpose―or sometimes take it away―the album aims for broad, relatable empathy.

Following the release, Lee will mount a six-date small-theater run in September titled ‘New, Purpose.’ His emotive sound is set to shine onstage, with brisk pre-sales already signaling strong demand.
