Korean hit “My Daughter Is a Zombie” has held the No. 1 spot at the box office for 23 consecutive days.
According to the Korean Film Council’s integrated box office system on the 22nd, “My Daughter Is a Zombie” drew 47,029 moviegoers nationwide on the 21st, pushing its cumulative tally to 4,734,069 admissions.
Since opening on the 30th of last month, the film hasn’t budged from the top spot. It cleared 1 million admissions in four days, 2 million in six, 3 million in 11 and 4 million in 17. It’s on pace to crack 5 million by this weekend.
That month-long hot streak could finally be tested by today’s (22nd) debut of the Japanese animated feature “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - Infinity Castle.”
“Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - Infinity Castle” has dominated advance sales for two weeks, commanding an 80% share of opening-day presales and 870,000 tickets reserved ― a new high for 2025 releases.
With “My Daughter Is a Zombie” poised to finish as summer’s biggest local draw, all eyes are on how big “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - Infinity Castle” opens ― and whether it can unseat the current champ.
