Actor Ko Kyoung-pyo is headed to the Busan International Film Festival as both producer and leading man of his new film "Maze."
When the 30th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) opens on the 17th next month, "Maze" will screen as an official selection in the Vision section, with Ko set to walk the red carpet and join onstage introductions and audience Q&A sessions (GV).
Celebrating its 30th edition, BIFF has expanded and revamped the Vision lineup to spotlight fresh, distinctive voices―and "Maze," produced by and starring Ko, made the cut.
"Maze" is a psychological drama that follows Yeong-mun (Ko), a man trapped in the cracks of his life after losing his wife. With help from private investigator Hee-mi (Wi Ji-won), he inches closer to the truth and is forced to confront the parts of himself he’s long avoided. Anticipation is high for Ko’s nuanced, tightly wound turn in the lead role.
Ko didn’t stop at acting―he was hands-on across development, production, and even editing, taking an active role throughout the creative process. His expansion from actor to creator adds an extra layer of meaning to "Maze."
"Maze" will have its world premiere at the 30th Busan International Film Festival. After the screening, Ko and director Shin Seon will take the stage for a Q&A (GV).
