Director Park Chan-wook and stars Lee Byung-hun, Son Ye-jin, Park Hee-soon, Lee Sung-min and Yum Hye-ran from the film 'No Other Choice' have confirmed they will attend the 82nd Venice International Film Festival.
'No Other Choice' follows Mansoo (Lee Byung-hun), an office worker who felt life was complete―until he’s suddenly laid off. Determined to protect his wife and two kids, and hang on to the hard-won family home, he gears up for his own all-out war to get back to work.
Marking the first Korean film in 13 years to secure an official Competition slot at Venice, 'No Other Choice' will bring Park Chan-wook, Lee Byung-hun, Son Ye-jin, Park Hee-soon, Lee Sung-min and Yum Hye-ran to the festival.
The team will unveil the film with a world premiere on Friday, Aug. 29, at 9:45 p.m., and they’ll hit the red carpet ahead of the screening.
This marks Park Chan-wook’s third Venice invitation after 'Three... Extremes' (2004, Midnight Express section) and 'Lady Vengeance' (2005, main competition). Alongside Park, Lee Byung-hun, Son Ye-jin, Park Hee-soon, Lee Sung-min and Yum Hye-ran will take part in official festival events and a full slate of activities, spending meaningful time with movie fans from around the world.
'No Other Choice' is slated to open in September.
