Maggie Kang, the filmmaker behind Netflix’s animated feature "KPop Demon Hunters," is touching down in Korea to meet the local press.
Netflix said on the 14th that Kang will attend a "KPop Demon Hunters" press conference on Aug. 22 at CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall in Seoul’s Yongsan District.
This marks Kang’s first official event in Korea and comes roughly two months after the film’s June premiere. She’s set to take part in an in-depth conversation about the project, followed by a Q&A.
"KPop Demon Hunters" follows K-pop superstars Rumi, Mira and Zoey, who moonlight as secret heroes safeguarding the world once the stage lights go down ― an action-fantasy packed with high-energy set pieces and pop flair.
Since debuting in June, the film has been a fixture on Netflix’s Global Top 10 for English-language films, and its soundtrack cut "Golden" even hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
According to Netflix’s Q2 2025 earnings report, "KPop Demon Hunters" ranks among the streamer’s most successful animated movies. By week eight, it had climbed to No. 2 on Netflix’s all-time most-watched movies list, just behind "Red Notice."
