Veteran actress Kim Young-ok, 87, was moved to tears at a concert by K-pop boy band MONSTA X ― performers young enough to be her grandsons.

In a YouTube video posted Aug. 13 titled “Kim Young-ok: The 87-Year-Old Grandma’s Concert-Going Health Routine,” the beloved star hit the MONSTA X show and mingled with younger fans in the crowd.

Kim first met rapper JOOHONEY on JTBC’s in 2016, where he served as her rap coach. He’s stayed close ever since, doting on her like a real grandson. The two have kept up a heartwarming friendship that bridges nearly a 50-year age gap ― now nine years and counting.

During the concert, Kim was visibly touched by JOOHONEY and the group’s high-energy set. “I cried right at the beginning. I was moved beyond words,” she said, eyes welling. After the show, she raved, “They’re truly top-tier. So good.”

Earlier this month, on Aug. 7, Kim launched her personal YouTube channel to connect more directly with fans. “I never imagined I’d experience something like this at my age,” she shared in the video. “It felt like a dream. I’m just grateful to be alive.”
