'My Daughter Is a Zombie' Dominates Box Office for 13 Consecutive Days, Heads to Sitges Film Festival

The film 'My Daughter Is a Zombie', which has been leading the domestic box office for 13 consecutive days, has been invited to the 58th Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival.

Launched in 1968 as a fantasy and horror film screening week, the Sitges Film Festival has since become one of the world's most prestigious genre film festivals. 'My Daughter Is a Zombie' has been selected for the Panorama section, a competitive category that showcases films with unique styles and a strong sense of the fantasy genre. This year's festival will take place from October 9th to October 19th.

Angel Sala, the chairman of the Sitges Film Festival, praised 'My Daughter Is a Zombie', stating, "Centered around the theme of family, this film is a variation of a subgenre that perfectly balances comedy and drama. It reinterprets classic slapstick comedy formulas and seamlessly incorporates expressions that resonate with younger audiences."

He continued, "Director Pil Gam-sung demonstrates an exceptional harmony that transcends genre and tone boundaries, constantly delivering fresh entertainment. 'My Daughter Is a Zombie' is one of the significant works in contemporary Korean cinema."

'My Daughter Is a Zombie' premiered on the 30th of last month and reached 1 million viewers in just 4 days, 2 million in 6 days, and surpassed 3 million nationwide viewers in 11 days.
