The leading stars of the movie 'My Daughter Is a Zombie', Cho Jung-seok and director Pil Gam-seong, have made a direct connection with fans in Taiwan for the movie's release on August 1st.
The duo participated in a Taiwan Star Tour event from August 4th (Monday) to August 6th (Wednesday). This visit was an official schedule to celebrate the local release on August 1st, where they actively engaged with the local media and audiences. They shared heartfelt stories about the movie's message, behind-the-scenes production insights, and character development during interviews with major Taiwanese broadcasters such as TVBS, Next TV, Eastern Media, China Television, and TTV. Print media interviews also highlighted Cho Jung-seok's extensive Asian fanbase, the movie's portrayal of warm fatherly love, and its entertaining family narrative, which garnered significant interest.
Additionally, a meet-and-greet at a local theater won over the hearts of approximately 1,400 attendees with its warm humor and sincere greetings, leaving a lasting impression through meaningful interaction with fans.
An interview and cultural experience content shoot with a popular Taiwanese YouTuber also filled the venue with laughter, with plans to release the content on social media and YouTube soon.
A representative from the Taiwanese distributor Moviecloud said, "This Star Tour has confirmed the solid fan base of 'My Daughter Is a Zombie' in Taiwan," expressing optimism that "the success of 'My Daughter Is a Zombie' will not only boost its box office numbers but also increase the love for Korean movies in Taiwan." 'My Daughter Is a Zombie' is set to open in a total of 22 countries, including Singapore, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Hong Kong, following its Taiwan release.
'My Daughter Is a Zombie' is a comedic drama about a doting father who goes into top-secret training to protect his daughter, who has become the last zombie on Earth. It opened in Korea on July 30th and broke even within a week, surpassing its break-even point of 2.2 million viewers.
