Former 4MINUTE member and actress Heo Ga-yoon has made her debut as an essayist.

Heo Ga-yoon has published her essay 'Becoming My Truest Self in the Most Unfamiliar Sea' (literal translation) on the 28th of last month, documenting her time spent in Bali, Indonesia. The book captures her journey from basking in the spotlight during her dazzling days to confronting herself on the stage of life once again.

In Bali, Heo Ga-yoon encountered unexpected happiness as a way to soothe her anxious heart and escape reality, if only for a moment. What started as a trip became a familiar day-to-day experience, slowly turning into a routine. This process marked the beginning of living not just a life that appears happy but one that is genuinely fulfilling.

In Bali, Heo Ga-yoon, no longer just an idol member or actress, lived as 'Gaga' from Korea, sharing her moments with candid confessions. Her honest revelations emphasize that living in the moment is more important than the rush to achieve something, and that these days accumulate to shape who she is now.

Heo Ga-yoon shared, "When I first started writing, I was more scared than excited, but now, I'm glad I can share my stories through writing. I hope this book can offer some strength and comfort to those who are at a crossroads or feeling weary and exhausted."

Debuting with 4MINUTE in 2009, Heo Ga-yoon took her first steps as an actress in the 2012 MBC drama 'Lights and Shadows.' She has since appeared in tvN's 'Let's Eat 2' (2015), and movies 'Daddy You, Daughter Me' (2017), 'Search Out' (2020), and 'Singer Song' (2022). Recently, she has been living in Bali, where she wrote 'Becoming My Truest Self in the Most Unfamiliar Sea'.
