The SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'The Winning Try' (written by Lim Jin-ah, directed by Jang Young-seok) is a comedic sports drama that follows the unpredictable journey of a quirky director, Joo Ga-ram, and the perennially last-place Hanyang High School rugby team as they sprint towards national championship glory. From a premiere episode peak rating of 4.8% to a second episode peak of 6.3% (according to Nielsen Korea), the show has not only hit its highest ratings yet but also secured the second spot in Netflix's domestic TV series rankings as of the 28th, proving its hot topic status and popularity from the get-go.
In the midst of this, the release of stills showing Hanyang High School rugby team coach Joo Ga-ram (played by Yoon Kye-sang) detained at a police station has drawn attention.
In the released stills, Ga-ram is seen sitting with his hands cuffed, leaning his head against a wall. His disheveled hair, facial bruises, and vacant stare not only induce laughter but also spark curiosity about what could have possibly led him to the police station.
Another still captures the icy glare of Ga-ram's ex-girlfriend, Bae Yi-ji (played by Lim Se-mi), directed at him. Ga-ram appears to shrink away from Yi-ji's cold gaze, a humorous contrast to his usually confident demeanor.
