BTS has once again proven their global dominance in K-pop by setting a new record on the U.S. Billboard's main album chart, the 'Billboard 200', with their live album making it into the top 10.
Billboard announced on its official website on the 28th (local time) that BTS's live album 'PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE - LIVE' has entered the 'Billboard 200' chart at number 10 for the week of August 2.
This marks BTS's 16th entry into the 'Billboard 200' chart and their 8th time in the top 10, setting a new record for the most top 10 entries by a Korean act.
Moreover, being the third act in the 2020s to have a live concert album in the top 10 of the 'Billboard 200', following Taylor Swift and Metallica, is an exceptional achievement. Achieving this feat with a live album composed of previously released songs underscores the immense brand power and fanbase strength of BTS.
The album recorded sales of 36,000 copies, 5,000 SEA units (streaming equivalent albums), and 2,000 TEA units (track equivalent albums) during the tracking week.
'PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE - LIVE' is BTS's first live concert album, capturing moments from their tour with the same title in Seoul, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas during 2021-2022. It features 22 hit tracks including 'Dynamite', 'Butter', 'Permission to Dance', 'Blood Sweat & Tears', and 'Boy With Luv (Feat. Halsey)'.
In other news, BTS recently announced their plans for a full group comeback in the spring of 2026 during a live broadcast on the global fan community platform Weverse. Starting in July, all members will head to the United States to begin intensive music production and concert preparations, with a new album release and a large-scale world tour also in the works.
