The film 'Omniscient Reader' has not only dominated the domestic box office in its opening weekend but has also become a sensation in Taiwan.
Released simultaneously in Taiwan at 7 PM on the 23rd, 'Omniscient Reader' shattered the opening records of 'Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds' and 'Exhuma', marking a fiery start at the box office. It notably surpassed the opening day earnings of 'Exhuma', setting a new record for the highest opening day revenue for a Korean film in Taiwan since 2021.
'Omniscient Reader' is a fantasy action film where the world of a novel, which has been serialized for over a decade, becomes reality on the day it concludes. The story follows 'Kim Dokja', the novel's sole reader, who, along with the novel's protagonist 'Yoo Joonghyuk' and their allies, strives to survive in the now apocalyptic world. The film, an adaptation of a web novel of the same name, stars Ahn Hyo-seop, Lee Min-ho, and Chae Soo-bin.
Since its domestic release on the 23rd, it has led the box office for five consecutive days, breaking past 600,000 viewers over its first weekend.
