JYP Entertainment has issued a formal apology regarding the controversy over 'excessive identity verification' during the entrance process of DAY6's fan meeting.

On the 21st, JYP stated, "We deeply apologize to the audience members who experienced inconvenience and harm due to the identity verification process at the DAY6 fan meeting."

The issue arose during the ticket collection and entrance process for DAY6's 10th-anniversary fan meeting held at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Seoul from the 18th to the 20th.

The operating company refused to accept any documents other than an ID with a photo attached, including family registration certificates, employee IDs, student IDs, and health insurance cards. Furthermore, it was reported that some attendees were asked to provide sensitive information such as their full social security number, address, financial authentication certificates, and school records, citing "differences between the photo and the person."

JYP explained, "In the process of entrusting entrance management to an external company, inappropriate procedures occurred, including excessive demands or collection and sharing of unnecessary personal information." They acknowledged, "The original purpose of the identity verification process was to prevent illegal ticket trading and protect actual attendees, but we failed to respond flexibly and take responsibility for management this time."

JYP added, "We fully acknowledge our responsibility for this issue and will be more diligent in protecting personal information in the future. We promise a full refund to those who could not enter due to the identity verification issue, and we will announce the compensation process separately."

Fans expressed understanding for the intention to prevent illegal ticket scalping but criticized the excessive demands, such as requiring financial authentication certificates, as an invasion of privacy.
