Amidst the wedding announcement of Koyote member Shinji (44) and singer MoonOne (37), various allegations surrounding MoonOne have surfaced, causing widespread controversy. In response, Shinji's agency, JG Star, released an official statement on July 8, addressing the situation and attempting to quell the flames.
JG Star stated, "We are not taking the recent controversies and allegations surrounding MoonOne lightly. During our discussions with him, MoonOne deeply regretted his inappropriate remarks and behavior, including his disrespectful attitude towards Shinji and the Koyote members, and his actions that hurt the person he loves. He has sincerely apologized."
Previously, after the announcement of his wedding plans with Shinji, MoonOne was engulfed in various allegations, including unlicensed real estate business activities, bullying during his school and military days, and two-timing before his first marriage. Notably, his remark during a meeting with Koyote members on Shinji's YouTube channel, saying "I didn't know Shinji was this famous," drew public criticism.
The agency explained, "MoonOne was unexpectedly thrust into the public eye due to the sudden wedding report, and he has been struggling with the sudden attention. His immature behavior seems to have been exposed in the process of handling various schedules and broadcasts." The agency added, "Like any other couple, the two cherish and support each other. We ask for your warm and understanding gaze."
The agency also addressed the major allegations surrounding MoonOne. Regarding the unlicensed real estate business activities, "MoonOne was officially registered as an assistant broker at the time and had completed the required training by the Real Estate Brokers Association, receiving a certificate. The illegal brokerage allegations are false."
As for the bullying and military harassment allegations, "After contacting classmates and juniors from that period, all have testified that these are false accusations, and many are willing to voluntarily clarify that these are not true." Regarding the divorce and two-timing allegations, "The relationship was already settled through a mutual divorce agreement, and the ex-spouse has also expressed support for the couple's future," the agency clarified.
The agency emphasized, "Since the announcement of the marriage, unfounded rumors have been spreading indiscriminately. We are considering legal action to protect our artist from the spread of false information and defamation."
Despite some of the controversy being based on misunderstandings or baseless rumors, the excessive criticism towards Shinji and MoonOne's marriage has lost its justification. Whatever the reasons behind their decision, the responsibility now lies entirely with Shinji. A more measured observation is needed rather than hasty judgments. Time will tell what the outcome of their decision will be.
