The group TWS (Tours) is making remarkable strides in Japan, continuing their upward trajectory.
According to Japan's Oricon on the 8th, TWS's Japanese debut single 'Nice to see you again (Original title はじめまして/Hajimemashite)' has topped the latest 'Weekly Single Ranking' (for the week of July 14th, with the counting period from June 30th to July 6th), recording approximately 150,000 sales. This marks TWS's second time reaching the top of this chart, following their domestic first single 'Last Bell'.
Oricon stated, "This single has achieved the highest first-week sales among foreign artists' works this year. Moreover, TWS is the first foreign artist to top the 'Weekly Single Ranking' this year." The last instance of a foreign artist reaching the top of this chart was also by their first single released last year, showcasing how solidly TWS has established themselves in Japan.
TWS also proved their immense popularity by topping Billboard Japan's latest 'Top Single Sales' (for the week of July 9th, with the counting period from June 30th to July 6th) with 'Nice to see you again'.
Since releasing their first single in Japan on the 2nd, TWS has been actively performing their new song on various terrestrial music broadcasts and festivals. They have also opened a debut commemorative pop-up store and cafe, and collaborated with Japan's leading karaoke brand, continuing their fervent 'first meeting' with fans.
The local enthusiasm for TWS is heating up. Every time they appear on music broadcasts, several TWS-related keywords trend on social media in real-time, and all available slots for their reservation-only pop-up store sold out quickly.
TWS is set to continue their hot streak with their first tour in Japan. Starting with a performance in Hiroshima on the 11th, they will meet fans in six cities including Aichi (13th-15th), Fukuoka (17th-18th), Miyagi (25th-26th), Osaka (28th-30th), and Kanagawa (August 9th-10th), holding a total of 13 shows for their '2025 TWS TOUR '24/7:WITH:US' IN JAPAN'.
