Actor Lee Jung-jae is reportedly gearing up for his second directorial project.

In a recent interview following the conclusion of "Squid Game" Season 3, Lee Jung-jae was asked about his next move, to which he mentioned both acting in dramas and preparing for directing.

Lee shared, "I've recently finished writing a script and sent it off to the US. I'm currently waiting for their feedback." This implies that his second directorial film will not solely rely on domestic funding.

He added, "I'm preparing for projects that involve not just domestic but also international filmmakers. It seems like a timely opportunity. In the past, it was difficult to collaborate with them, but now they're the ones reaching out. I can't miss this chance. There are a few things in the works, and of course, they need to come to fruition. But I'm planning to see it through until the end."

Lee also expressed his desire not to be the sole beneficiary of the opportunities and benefits that came with the global success of the "Squid Game" series. He stated, "As a senior actor, I feel a sense of responsibility. It's not just about my doing well, but also about the good fortune and opportunities that have broadened my horizons. I've gained a lot of experience from 'Squid Game,' and I really want to share that with my fellow actors. I hope the next success story is theirs, not mine. Above all, I wish for the content and film market, which has been greatly affected, to recover."

Lee is currently shooting the tvN drama "Unpleasant Love" (literal title) with Im Ji-yeon. Directing a movie is likely to be his next project.
