YG Entertainment Entertainment has issued an official apology regarding the restricted view seat controversy at BLACKPINK's stadium tour 'DEADLINE' opening show. The company has announced that follow-up actions will be taken for those affected.
On July 7th, YG Entertainment released a statement saying, "We deeply apologize for the inconvenience caused by the limited view from the N3 seats at the BLACKPINK concert last weekend." The company explained that despite efforts to improve visibility by expanding LED screens, the installation of a console in front of these seats ultimately led to the discomfort.
The statement continued, "We will proceed with follow-up actions for those who reported their discomfort regarding this issue, and details will be provided through the ticketing platforms." It also promised that further information on compensation or refunds would be announced later.
The BLACKPINK stadium concert held on the 5th and 6th at the Goyang Stadium attracted approximately 78,000 fans, marking a historic performance as the first K-pop girl group to fill the venue on their own.
However, complaints about severely obstructed views from certain seats followed. Notably, the 'N3 section' was farthest from the main stage, with large consoles and screens installed in front, leaving attendees with almost no view of the actual performance.
Some fans took to social media and online communities to express their frustration, stating, "It wasn't just a restricted view seat, it was a no-view seat," and accused YG Entertainment of selling expensive tickets without clear notification of the view limitations.
YG Entertainment responded, "We will take greater care in considering the viewing environment in the future and do our best to provide a better concert experience," promising to prevent such issues from happening again.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK is set to continue their 'DEADLINE' stadium tour, covering 16 cities across the United States, Europe, and Asia with a total of 31 shows.
