Actor Park Sung-woong is set to raise the profile of Korean cinema at an international film festival.
Park Sung-woong has been officially invited to the Danang Asia Film Festival (DANAFF) for his roles in the 2019 film 'Inside Me' (directed by Kang Hyo-jin) and the 2023 film 'woongnami' (directed by Park Sung-kwang).
The Danang Asia Film Festival aims to position Danang as a hub for Asian cinematic exchange, with this year's event seeing a significant expansion in both scale and programming compared to last year. Following the newly introduced 'Asian Cinema Panorama' section, this year features South Korea as the 'Country in Focus,' with a total of 14 major Korean films being screened.
Park Sung-woong made his debut in the 1997 film 'No. 3' and has since become a familiar face on the screen. He has consistently met audiences with a variety of roles, earning widespread acclaim for his role in the 2013 film 'New World'.
In 'Inside Me', he played the role of gang boss Jang Pan-soo, who swaps souls with high school student Dong-hyun (Jinyoung) following an unexpected accident, capturing the hearts of the audience and receiving high praise. Following this, in 'woongnami', he took on the role of Na Woong-nam, who battles international crime with his superhuman abilities, delivering both laughter and emotion.
Recently, Park Sung-woong made headlines with the news of his exclusive contract signing with Management RUN. He will be attending the Danang Asia Film Festival, which runs from June 29 to July 5, shining a spotlight on his presence.
