The Netflix film 'Good News,' starring Sul Kyung-gu and Hong Kyung, has been officially invited to the Special Presentations section of the 50th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

'Good News' is a film set in the 1970s, depicting a dubious operation by a group of people determined to land a hijacked airplane by any means necessary.

The Toronto International Film Festival is North America's largest film festival, inviting a diverse array of films that boast both popularity and artistic quality. It is considered one of the top four film festivals in the world, alongside the Cannes Film Festival, Berlin International Film Festival, and Venice Film Festival.

The Special Presentations section, where 'Good News' has been invited, highlights anticipated works from around the globe across various genres. Notably, a variety of Korean films such as 'I, THE EXECUTIONER,' 'Decision to Leave,' and 'The Handmaiden' have been featured in this section. 'Good News' is set to meet global audiences with its world premiere at the festival.

Cameron Bailey, the Executive Director of TIFF, praised the film, stating, "This movie exemplifies the festival's 50-year commitment to innovation, authenticity, and a global perspective," further heightening anticipation for 'Good News.'

For director Byun Sung-hyun, this invitation marks his third international film festival nod, following the 70th Cannes Film Festival for 'The Merciless' and the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival for the Netflix film 'Kill Boksoon.'

The 50th Toronto International Film Festival will take place from September 4th to 14th, with 'Good News' being screened during this period. Following its festival run, the film is scheduled to be released worldwide on Netflix.
