Actress Shim Eun-kyung has been cast in tvN's new drama "How to Become a Building Owner in Korea" (literal title).
Joining a stellar cast lineup including Ha Jung-woo, Lim Soo-jung, Kim Jun-han, and Krystal, "Building Owner" is poised to be the most anticipated show of the first half of 2026. The drama tells the story of a debt-ridden, working-class building owner who becomes embroiled in crime to protect his family and property, which are more precious to him than his own life.
In the drama, Shim Eun-kyung plays Yona, a hands-on worker at Real Capital who keeps a close watch on Ki Soo-jong (played by Ha Jung-woo). Yona, adopted overseas as a child, brings a mysterious charm that adds tension to the narrative.
From "Sunny" to the recently released "The Killers," Shim Eun-kyung has consistently proven her unique presence and depth of acting across various films. She also made history as the first Korean actress to win the Best Actress award at the Japan Academy Prize in 2020, solidifying her status as a global star.
This marks Shim Eun-kyung's return to drama after six years since "Money Game."
Recently venturing back into television shows after an 11-year hiatus, Shim Eun-kyung has brought great joy to audiences through appearances on MBC's "Hangout with Yoo," tvN's "You Quiz on the Block," and the YouTube channel "MMTG." With her role in "Building Owner," fans are eagerly anticipating the diverse performances Shim Eun-kyung will bring to the screen in the future.
