Actress Kim Hee-sun is set to transform into a 'career-interrupted mom turned show host'.
On the 26th, her agency Hinge Entertainment announced, "Kim Hee-sun has been cast as the protagonist 'Jo Na-jeong' in TV CHOSUN's new weekend mini-series 'Since There's No Next Life' (written by Shin Yi-won, directed by Seong Do-jun)." They added, "Audiences can expect to see a Kim Hee-sun that's a complete 180 from her previous work 'Bitter Sweet Hell', portraying the nuanced emotions of middle-aged women with realism."
'Since There's No Next Life' is a comedic growth story about three friends in their forties, tired from the monotony of daily life, childcare battles, and the hamster wheel of office work, striving for a better 'complete life'. The drama, a collaboration between 'Uncle' director Seong Do-jun and 'Green Mothers' Club' writer Shin Yi-won, promises solid reality and relatability.
Kim Hee-sun plays 'Jo Na-jeong', a once highly sought-after show host with a six-figure salary who now faces a career interruption while raising two sons. Living an ordinary life as a housewife, she decides to return to the stage on a whim, embarking on a cheerful yet earnest challenge towards the second act of her life. Kim Hee-sun will unfilteredly depict the reality and ideals, work and childcare, frustrations, and challenges of a forty-something career-interrupted woman.
Kim Hee-sun's forty-something close friends are played by actresses Han Hye-jin and Jin Seo-yeon. The story of three women, each living in different circumstances with their own worries, drawing the friendship and growth of women in their forties, is attracting attention.
Having recently solidified her position as an art director through the 'ATO: Beautiful Gift Exhibition' in New York, Kim Hee-sun is making a full-fledged return to her acting career with this project. Starting with her main MC role in JTBC's new variety show 'Let's Eat Dinner Together' airing in July, followed by the drama 'Since There's No Next Life', she is also preparing for a new genre of work next year.
Meanwhile, 'Since There's No Next Life', featuring Kim Hee-sun, is set to premiere this November and will also be streamed on the global OTT platform Netflix.
