The agency behind groups like CIX and EPEX, C9 Entertainment, is set to unveil a multinational new boy group after five years.
On the 18th, C9 Entertainment announced the launch of a new boy group, tentatively named C9 ROOKIES, by opening their official social media accounts.
C9 ROOKIES marks C9 Entertainment's first new boy group since EPEX, about five years ago. Comprised of multinational members, the group plans to make a grand debut as the lead actors in a prime-time drama on Japan's TBS channel in 2026, following a pre-debut period.
Following the launch announcement, the first and second members, DOHYEOK and KIM GUN's profile images were revealed through C9 ROOKIES' official social media channels at midnight on the 19th and 20th.
DOHYEOK, the first member to be introduced, captures attention with his comic book-like visuals and youthful charm. Having passed auditions at two of the top four major agencies, DOHYEOK's solid foundation has garnered high expectations. His profile showcases his handsome looks and natural expressions, drawing significant global K-POP fan interest upon release.
The second member, KIM GUN, brings a fresh-faced look and photogenic poses that set the tone on set, showcasing his role as a mood maker. KIM GUN, who has been a trainee at one of the major agencies, is expected to show a wide range of concepts, starting with his 'positive and passionate boy' image in a white shirt and jeans.
Born in 2008 and 2007, respectively, DOHYEOK and KIM GUN are set to be the youngest members of C9 ROOKIES. Their debut is highly anticipated as they are expected to follow in the footsteps of CIX's HYUNSUK and EPEX's JEFF, becoming the new 'visual maknaes' of C9 Entertainment.
Starting with these two, the profiles of the members will be sequentially revealed through C9 ROOKIES' official social media until the 25th.
Meanwhile, C9 Entertainment has recorded consecutive operating profits in 2023 and 2024, and in the latter year, achieved the milestone of surpassing 20 billion won in annual sales for the first time since its establishment, solidifying its role as a leading force in the new wave of K-POP.
Younha, celebrating a successful 20th debut anniversary, Lee Seok-hoon, who is active across music and broadcasting, CIX, loved worldwide for their solid skills, and EPEX, proving their strength with over a million cumulative album sales, are all actively promoting in various fields.
