Forestella member Ko Woorim has successfully made his first television show appearance since being discharged from the military.
Ko Woorim appeared on the "Mr. Voice" special of MBC's "Radio Star" on the 18th, bringing laughter with various stories.
When introduced, Ko Woorim saluted and said, "After serving for a year and a half, I'm on 'Radio Star' for my first variety show appearance, and I'm fired up. There's a perception that crossover groups are serious, but I wanted to show that we're all full of talent."
Ko Woorim kicked off his first post-discharge television show appearance with a talk about a 9-night, 10-day trip to France with his wife, Kim Yuna. He shared, "After being away for a year and a half, I felt we needed some time together. Even the hotel staff in Paris recognized my wife as the 'Olympic champion,' which made me quite proud."
Especially, Ko Woorim attributed his marriage to Kim Yuna partly to his "voice," saying, "She never thought she'd marry someone younger. I was worried that our five-year age difference would make me seem immature, so I tried to speak well. In the midst of that, my mature-sounding voice appealed to her."
Regarding nicknames with Kim Yuna, he said, "Since I'm younger, calling her by name felt awkward, like calling a younger brother, so I rarely used her name and went with 'honey' or 'babe.'" When asked if he ever called her 'noona,' he replied, "I did before we started dating, but not after. Now, she gets upset if I call her 'noona.'"
During the show, Ko Woorim shared how he and Kim Yuna first met, their four years of secret dating, and the moments that led to their decision to marry, sparking excitement.
Ko Woorim also promoted Forestella, announcing their comeback in July and a national tour concert. He teased their new song "Everything," raising fans' anticipation.
Moreover, Ko Woorim captivated "Radio Star" with his magnetic voice. He revealed he has a rare bass voice type, "basso profondo," the lowest in the bass range, which adds a thrilling element to Forestella's songs. He even performed a snippet of the "Aladdin" OST on the spot, earning admiration.
Additionally, Ko Woorim entertained with his personal skills honed in the military and approved by his wife, including a "new recruit" character and impersonations of Han Suk-kyu and Choi Hong-man, as done by comedian Jo Se-ho.
Meanwhile, Forestella, the group Ko Woorim belongs to, will kick off their 2025 national tour concert "THE WAVE" starting in Seoul on July 26-27, followed by performances in Busan on August 9-10, and Daegu on August 23-24.
