ILLIT has transformed into cats for their new album.
At the showcase for ILLIT's third mini-album 'Bomb' held on the 16th in YES24, Gwangjin District, Seoul, ILLIT expressed pride in releasing their third album, saying, "I'm so proud that ILLIT has released three albums already," and "I'm most curious about the fans' reactions who have waited for us for so long."
Entering their third year since debut, ILLIT's latest album comes eight months after their second mini-album 'I'LL LIKE YOU'.
The group introduced this album as a step beyond their last two, which focused on personal emotions, to begin real interaction with 'you'.
The title track 'Do the Dance' encapsulates ILLIT's bold charm, depicting the awkwardness and tension of a first date gone awry, feeling increasingly dazed like a Do the Dance, yet not wanting it to end.
HYBE's Chairman Bang Si-hyuk participated in composing the title track and suggested to the members that "it would be great to include cute choreography," the members revealed.
Indeed, following their previous album's success with hand gesture performances, ILLIT has prepared a cat stretch dance and a 'meow-meow' dance for this stage, along with unique lyrics that evoke the adorableness of cats.
The members of ILLIT have made various preparations for this album.
WONHEE took intensive French lessons to master the French lyrics, while MINJU emphasized that she "gave it her all, to the point of tasting blood in her throat," to improve her vocal performance.
When asked about ILLIT's unique color, WONHEE emphasized 'honesty'.
He explained, "In 'Magnetic', we expressed our feelings honestly, 'Cherish' means my feelings for you are precious, and this time, we're showing our bold and honest charm regarding feelings of affection."
Asked when they feel their popularity, MINJU answered, "When our song plays while walking down the street," setting the album's goal to "become synonymous with us, as our team name suggests we can be anything, and we really want to win first place on a music show with this album."
The third mini-album 'Bomb', featuring the title track 'Do the Dance', 'Little Monster', 'Jellyous', 'oops!', and 'Night Picnic', was released today at 6 PM.
