From group member to solo artist, and now a producer, Kang Daniel confidently states, "I dare say there's no limit in music for me."
Marking his 7th year since debut as a composer, Kang Daniel revealed at a press conference in Yeouido-dong, Yeongdeungpo District, Seoul, for his sixth mini-album 'Glow to Haze' release, "I only slept for three hours last night," showing his nervousness.
The title track 'Episode' from 'Glow to Haze', unveiled for the first time today, features a music video inspired by the movie 'Night at the Museum'. This dynamic museum setting filled with three-dimensional characters is one of Kang Daniel's favorites.
Regarding the title track, Kang Daniel said, "I was completely hooked the first time I heard it. It had so many elements that I instantly liked," adding, "It captures the thrilling start of love and how its brilliance fades over time, all arranged in order in the tracklist."
'Love Game', the first song Kang Daniel composed, is the third track on the album. He finds significance in expressing 'the starting point of fading emotions'. He emphasized, "Since I fell in love with music relatively late, I feel there's no limit to what I want to show and share. I'm eager to keep presenting more creative works and continue greeting my fans."
While Kang Daniel has previously participated in lyric writing, this is his first foray into composition. With a busy schedule of album promotions and tours, taking on composition was no small feat.
"I knew the basics of composition, but I was worried about the stress from my activities. This time, I wanted to express myself more and took on the challenge," he explained.
Regarding this album, Kang Daniel said, "Not only am I showing my first attempt at composition, but I also pondered a lot about the album's perfection. If I were to grade it, I'd give it a 92-93%, meaning it's like an exam with only one or two mistakes."
With his military enlistment approaching in the first half of the year, Kang Daniel has many performances and pieces of music he wants to share.
Reflecting on his 7 years, Kang Daniel said, "There are still many aspects I'm not satisfied with. Now that I've accumulated some data and experience, I'm eager to share it. As a solo artist, my strength lies in being able to show a variety of performances and vocal skills. I want to maintain my current balance and continue to share my voice in diverse ways."
Kang Daniel's 7th-year debut album 'Glow to Haze' will finally be unveiled today at 6 PM.
