Actor Choo Young-woo shared his excitement about participating in a noir action genre project.

During the Netflix series 'Mercy for None' press conference held on the morning of the 5th at the Ambassador Seoul Pullman Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul, Choo Young-woo expressed, "It's an honor to be part of this project. It's a genre every man dreams of trying at least once. The lineup of senior actors made me wonder if I'd ever get the chance to breathe the same air as them. I just had to be here."

Based on the popular webtoon of the same name, 'Mercy for None' follows the story of Nam Ki-jun (played by So Ji-sub), who, after cutting off his own Achilles' heel and leaving the world of Mercy for None, returns 11 years later following the death of his brother and former second-in-command of the organization, Ki-seok (played by Lee Jun-hyuk), to uncover the truth behind his death and seek revenge in this noir action drama.

In the series, Choo Young-woo plays the role of Lee Geum-son, a current prosecutor and the son of Lee Joo-woon (played by Heo Jun-ho), one of the two pillars of Mercy for None world. Unlike his father, who led the organization all his life, Geum-son chooses to walk his own path, harboring a dark ambition to overturn the power dynamics within 'Mercy for None.'

Choo Young-woo discussed his character, saying, "I put a lot of effort into giving off an enigmatic vibe and focused heavily on that aspect. I studied the character in depth and discussed with the director what kind of presence I could bring to the role and what I could show the audience."

Having risen to stardom with popular roles in 'The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call' and 'The Tale of Lady Ok', Choo Young-woo asked fans to look forward to his different portrayal in 'Mercy for None', saying, "Geum-son is different from any role I've played before. Please look forward to it."

From So Ji-sub, making his noir action comeback after 13 years and being the top choice for the role of Nam Ki-jun, to Heo Jun-ho, Gong Myung, Choo Young-woo, Ahn Gil-kang, Jo Han-chul, Lee Beom-soo, and special appearances by Cha Seung-won and Lee Jun-hyuk, 'Mercy for None' promises an immersive ensemble of unique characters. With its heavy hardboiled action, expanded narrative from the original, and a variety of spectacles, it's set to deliver intense entertainment.

Comprising a total of 7 episodes, 'Mercy for None' will be released on Netflix on the 6th.
