Lung Cancer Survivor Lee Hye-young Opens Personal Exhibition Infused with Sensation & Experience

Former singer and actress turned painter, Lee Hye-young, 53, is set to unveil her seventh solo exhibition, 'Hae-sa (解紗): Unveiling Lightness,' a collection deeply infused with her personal sensations and experiences.

According to her agency, Lee Hye-young will be hosting her exhibition at Gallery STAN in Gangnam District, Seoul, until June 15.

Through her latest works, she captures fleeting moments where an individual's emotions and memories spread out like light, tracing the essence of lightness and clarity that permeates her inner self. Her bold use of primary colors, such as red and blue, promises to captivate the audience.

Lee Hye-young is an artist who constantly experiments and transforms herself, continuously reconstructing her identity to infuse her unique sensations and experiences into her art.

Her pieces delicately express personal memories, wounds, love, and hope, serving as small beacons that brightly illuminate life's moments for the viewers. Moreover, they offer a quiet consolation and a reminder of forgotten sensations.

Lee Hye-young has previously disclosed that she was diagnosed with early-stage lung cancer in 2021 and has since undergone surgery and is under follow-up observation.
