The global girl group KATSEYE, a collaboration between HYBE and Geffen Records, continues to show strong performance on the major US Billboard charts with their single 'Gnarly'.
As of May 28 (local time), according to the latest Billboard charts dated May 31, KATSEYE's 'Gnarly' ranked 32nd on the 'Global (Excl. US)' and 53rd on the 'Global 200', marking three consecutive weeks on both charts.
On Spotify, the world's largest music streaming platform, 'Gnarly' continues to demonstrate its strength. The track recently placed 45th on the 'Daily Top Songs Global' chart for May 27. Since its debut on the chart at 91st place on May 2, it has been steadily climbing. Previously, it also maintained its personal best position of 46th for two consecutive weeks on the 'Weekly Top Songs Global' chart (May 16-22). This consistent streaming success indicates that KATSEYE is building a solid global fanbase beyond just momentary buzz.
Released on April 30, 'Gnarly' is a bold mix of hyperpop with elements of dance and punk. The daring and experimental sound combined with KATSEYE's powerful performance has left a strong impression on music fans worldwide. The song made an impressive entry into the UK's 'Official Singles Top 100' and the US Billboard 'Hot 100' shortly after its release, a notable achievement for a group less than a year into their debut.
KATSEYE was formed through the global audition project 'Dream Academy', followed by a rigorous training process in performance, vocals, and teamwork based on the Korean training system. Leveraging HYBE's production system and the 'K-pop methodology', they have exploded onto the scene as the next pop icons.
Their second EP 'BEAUTIFUL CHAOS' is set to be released on June 27. KATSEYE shared their determination with this new release, stating, "We aim to clearly show who we are as a group and the direction we're heading."
