Balladream continued their winning streak against Nine Cheok Giants.
On the 21st, SBS's 'Kick a Goal' featured a G League B Group preliminary match between Nine Cheok Giants and Balladream.
The match drew attention as the two teams, with a significant physical difference, faced off. In the world of Kick a Goal, the tallest player, Lee Hye-jung, and the shortest, Ben, had a staggering height difference of 32cm.
Before the game, Balladream declared their intention to win not against Nine Cheok Giants but as a form of revenge against Coach Lee Young-pyo, who they felt had underestimated their true value.
In response, Coach Lee Young-pyo encouraged his players, saying, "It's not about me; let's show them how formidable our team is."
As the game kicked off, Balladream's Seogi caught everyone's eye with her serious gameplay, devoid of any smiles. Balladream's fierce play dominated the match and led to the first goal.
Rookie Jung Ye-won pressured Nine Cheok Giants, and her defensive pressure resulted in a goal. The debut goal from one of the Kick a Goal kids was met with applause from everyone.
Despite expectations of being physically outmatched, Balladream showed they could hold their own in defense as well, matching Nine Cheok Giants's gameplay.
The first half ended 1-0. However, at the end of the first half, Nine Cheok Giants's Lee Hyun was injured by a ball to the eye.
With a swollen eye, Lee Hyun insisted on not taking a break, saying, "No, I won't rest. Resting my eye won't heal it," showing her strong determination to continue the game. Coach Lee Young-pyo, inspired by such leadership, said, "With a captain like this, we can't lose this game," as he motivated his team.
But as soon as the second half began, Jung Ye-won scored an additional goal, with Min-seo assisting. This put Balladream ahead 2-0.
Nine Cheok Giants desperately tried to score a comeback goal, and they managed to get a penalty kick opportunity from a handball foul by Kyung-hee Heo. They successfully scored, making it 2-1.
However, scoring an additional goal proved to be difficult. Lee Hyun, who had suffered an eye injury in the first half, was hit in the abdomen by the ball, causing her to have difficulty breathing, adding to the team's woes.
Balladream's rookie, Jung Ye-won, completed a hat-trick, ending the game with a 3-1 victory for Balladream.
Following the victory, Seogi smiled brightly, saying she had no regrets. Meanwhile, Nine Cheok Giants's captain, Lee Hyun, tearfully said, "We really did give it our all. I hope none of my teammates blame themselves."
