The SBS Plus and ENA reality show 'I Am Solo: Love Forever' saw its 14th season stars, Kyungsoo and Gukhwa, become a couple in real life, only to part ways after two months.
Following the airing of the 'Golfing Special' finale on May 16th, the couple's relationship was the focus of a live broadcast on the YouTube channel 'Chonjang Entertainment'.
Gukhwa opened up about their relationship, stating, "We were getting to know each other and dating well, but now we are supporting each other as friends."
Kyungsoo also shared, "I pursued her actively. We dated for about two months before breaking up. Usually, after a breakup, you don't want to date someone like your ex, but meeting Gukhwa changed my type. I want to be with a woman who is mature and from whom I can learn."
However, both remained tight-lipped about the reasons for their breakup, saying, "Breaking up is hard and painful for both parties, so we think it's better to remain silent for each other's sake."
Previously, there were rumors online about Kyungsoo being involved in unsavory incidents with an ex-girlfriend, including accusations of dating violence.
Kyungsoo denied these allegations, stating, "I never threatened to throw a dog or hurled a chair. I am taking legal action." He added, "Being a private individual, I thought staying silent would make the controversies fade away. Honestly, it's been tough. We were in a loving relationship and parted on good terms, supporting each other. It would be better if people checked their facts or restrained themselves."
Kyungsoo, a former pitcher for the LG Twins, now works as a coach at a baseball research institute following his retirement. Gukhwa, a former flight attendant, currently runs a flight attendant training academy bearing her name.
