SBS's 'What on Earth' is making a comeback with Season 2 after about three months.
'What on Earth' has confirmed its Season 2 schedule for the upcoming 29th (Thursday) at 9 PM. Season 1 MCs Jun Hyun-moo, Baek Z Young, Kim Ho-young, and WJSN's Subin will reunite in the studio as MCs, promising even better chemistry this time around.
Introduced last October, 'What on Earth' broke away from the traditional format of just watching VCRs with its fresh setup and the heartwarming and humorous stories of various people, quickly becoming a hot topic. The show's premiere, post-revamp, not only averaged a 4.7% viewership rating (according to Nielsen Korea) but also saw a peak of 6.7% during the scene featuring 'Starbucks Uncle', capturing the audience's attention successfully.
Achieving the number one spot in the '2049 viewership ratings' during its time slot, 'What on Earth' expanded its audience from middle-aged to younger viewers, continuing to dominate discussions on various online communities, YouTube, and social media platforms. Notably, a clip featuring 'the heaviest woman in the country at 268kg' has surpassed 2.07 million views on YouTube's 'Wow Video', and the story of 'Gian74', a lookalike of 'Gian87', has become a hot topic on communities and social media, resonating well with the younger demographic.
Thanks to the support of its viewers, 'What on Earth' is returning after three months with the trusted chemistry of its original MCs and even more unique and rich content for each episode, promising laughter and emotion to the viewers at home.
The production team stated, "The first season of 'What on Earth', introduced last October, concluded successfully, maintaining the legacy of SBS's long-standing representative programs while also receiving a warm response from the younger audience. For Season 2, we have prepared even more diligently curated items, with stories unlike any seen before, promising a special feature every week. We ask for your continued interest in Season 2, returning after just three months."
