Kim Ji-yeon has discovered the true culprit behind Gil Hae-yeon's death.
In the latest episode of SBS's Friday-Saturday drama 'The Haunted Palace', the tender feelings Kangcheol harbors for Yeori could no longer be concealed.
During the episode, Kangcheol shielded Yeori from the rain with his own hands. Upon waking, Yeori asked Kangcheol why he looked at her with such eyes.
Kangcheol questioned, "How am I supposed to look at you?" to which Yeori responded, "Like you're looking at someone you've missed."
Kangcheol admitted, "It's true that Yoongap had feelings for you. Whether this heart and these feelings belong to him, making me dizzy when I see you, or if it's just a trick played by being trapped in a human body, I honestly don't know."
He continued, "I'm feeling this way, but what about you? I've always wondered. Are you smiling at me, or is it for Yoongap?" asking Yeori what she thought of him.
A moment of silence passed between them. With an awkward feeling, Kangcheol changed the subject, and Yeori found herself smiling at Kangcheol without realizing.
Realizing her own actions, Yeori reflected, "Grandma, was I really smiling at him? Smiling at the man who killed you. I thought I was just confused, but I'm sorry, Grandma," acknowledging her feelings for Kangcheol had changed.
Later, Yeori accidentally discovered that her grandmother, Neobdeok, had entered the palace before her death. Especially since Neobdeok had entered the palace due to the Eight-Foot Spirit and had battled it.
Yeori rushed to Leejeong, asking, "Was there an Eight-Foot Spirit during the year His Majesty ascended the throne? Did anyone in the royal family become possessed by it?"
Leejeong, keeping the royal family's secrets, hesitated. Yeori pleaded, "I need to know when the Eight-Foot Spirit began and who started this grudge."
Eventually, Leejeong revealed, "Yes, there was. During those dreadful times, the Eight-Foot Spirit existed. That cursed spirit had attacked my father, the previous king."
Yeori also shared, "It seems that cursed spirit also killed my grandmother," shedding tears.
Meanwhile, at the end of the broadcast, the identity of the person summoning the Eight-Foot Spirit was revealed. It was Kim Bongin, the king's maternal grandfather. Furthermore, Pungsan revealed to Kim Bongin that Yeori is a descendant of Neobdeok, raising questions about future developments.
